How did you come to MB?
Two years ago, at a MB worship service, I sensed God calling me to explore joining the pastoral staff. Completely out of character, I sent Brian Sonderman a letter expressing this calling ... a year later I joined the staff. Brian and I were on staff at Elmbrook Church together, so I had a good understanding of his vision for MB, and the particular needs of the community. I am grateful, everyday, to be at MB!
Describe your role at MB.
My main responsibilities are to shape and shepherd ministries of discipleship and leadership development. In addition, I assist in the worship and preaching planning and implementation.
What is the best part about your role?
This is so difficult to answer, because I truly love it all! I love working with Brian and Angie; I respect their gifting and really enjoy their friendship. I love the MB community ... no pretenses, open to the Spirit's moving, compassion for the city. I love the details of my specific responsibilities.
If you were a color, what color would you be and why?
Definately RED! I love red because it is inviting, warm, yet bold. I think the goal of investing in the lives of people is to be all three of these at one time.
What do you count as the greatest invention of the last 100 years? Why?
Peanut butter. I could not survive a day without it! It is soothing, hunger-reducing, energizing, and tastes good with just about anything.
What is your favorite place on earth?
Peninsula State Park in Door County.
What makes you laugh?
Practical jokes on everyone ... including myself!
What makes you cry?
Neglected children who grow into adults who believe they are worthy of that neglect.
If you could be on any reality TV show, what would it be and why?
Candid Camera ... but on the camera end! Since I've been a kid, I've loved playing brilliant practical jokes on people. (Although, many of the ones I've played have been extremely ineffective!).
